Help us help you

One of my favorite things to do is help someone find a wine. There are so many wines out there and finding a "good one" can be a daunting task. Lucky for you, we have already done the hard work. The wines we carry in the store are what we think are good wines. We have tasted all of them (that's right, ALL of them). All that is left is to help you find one that fits your taste.

And here is where you come in. The more you tell us about what you like, the more likely it is that we can help you find the wine you will like the best. Words like "dry" or "fruity" give us more direction that you might guess.

Whenever you come in to the store, we have found that you make the decision if you want white or red, which is why we have our store divided into a red side and a white side. After that decision it becomes a little hazy.

Once we have the red or white decision made, we start asking you questions: Do you like Cabernet? What do you think about French or Spainish wine? Perhaps something juicy and easy to drink? Something that goes with food? Each of these questions gets us a little closer to what it is you want in a wine.

Sometimes we might not ask about the price you are looking for, although we know that price is a big factor in choosing a wine. We first want to give you our recommendation of what we think is the best wine to fit your tastes. If the wine happens to be too expensive, we will make alternative suggestions that will also fit your price requirements.

One of the best ways to make sure we help you find a wine you like is to taste wine with us. Every Friday and Saturday night (and some Thursdays too!) we hold wine tastings in the store. November and December are packed with tastings for the holidays. By tasting with us, we get a direct experience with you about a wine. Whether you like the one you just tasted or not can tell us a huge amount about the wines you like and help us choose the best wine for you.

At the end of the day, we want you to leave the store happy. We also want to you be happy when you open the bottle and taste what is inside. Hopefully we helped you make a good choice.
